Chains by Thomas got it's start after my partner at the time stopped making chains and I wanted a few different necklaces. I decided to make them myself. After a while, people saw my photos online and showed interest, commenting how nice they looked and asking where I got them. At the beginning, when asked if I sold them, I said no.
I decided to make and sell a few of them at first, simply out of hobby interest, thinking it would never take off. However, people continued to ask for them. I quickly became addicted to making new weaves and creating different color combinations.
Chains by Thomas is a small, gay-owned and operated business based in South-Central Pennsylvania.
I truly enjoy making every chain. I can only hope everyone can wear my work proudly and happy with the product they ordered.
Black and Rainbow Ropes
I was born in a small town in rural Pennsylvania. I'd say we were a normal family, trying to live the American dream. I learned about camping and fishing from my father. My mother taught me how to do the basics in cooking, cleaning, and everyday essentials we all need. From my father, I got book smarts; but my mother is the one who passed on artistic talent. She was talented as an artist and baker (neither her career, unfortunately). Where I cannot draw to her degree of talent, I did learn to bake and be crafty.
I always enjoyed making things with my hands. I prefer to make from scratch with only basic supplies, be it baking or crafting. There's a great sense of accomplishment to me when you watch nearly nothing turn into something usable.
